Non Surgical Eye Rejuvenation…An Appealing Option to Traditional Surgery.

December 17th, 2009

Eyes are often said to be the windows to our souls.  What do your eyes say?  That you have a tired, worn, and sad soul?  You shouldn’t have to look or feel this way!  You want a more beautiful and youthful eye aera that speaks of your inner and outer beauty.  Eye rejuvenation has many forms.  Believe it or not, a more rested and rejuvenated look can be yours without going under the knife.  Non surgical methods which provide lifting and volume restoration to the eye have really evolved into an attractive option.  These techniques are a great way to rejuvenate your look while on a budget!  For example, Botox® Cosmetic, proven safe and effective by the FDA, can be injected into the forehead, crow’s feet, and the area between the eyebrows, or glabella, to smooth out lines and wrinkles.  In most patients the brow can be lifted by injecting into specific combinations of areas in and above the eyebrow.  This creates a lifting effect, opening up your eye area and reducing that furrowed brow look.  Other great products that help puffiness or “bags” under the eye are cosmetic fillers such as Radiesse® or Juvederm® injectable gel.  These cosmetic fillers contain non-toxic ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyl apatite, and can be injected just under the eye, where the volume loss occurs.  By filling in the missing spaces, you’re creating a smooth, more youthful, and lifted appearance.  If you desire a more youthful looking eye area, call our office today to book your non-surgical rejuvenation treatment.  Packages are available upon request!  239-343-9777

Am I a good candidate for Breast reduction surgery?

November 18th, 2009

Your back hurts…your shoulders hurt…even your breasts themselves hurt.  You might get headaches, arm tingling, and even have rashes under your breast area.  If you have large breasts that interfere with your daily activities and cause pain, you may be a candidate for breast reduction surgery in Ft. Myers.  Millions of women each year seek breast reduction as a means of improving their quality of life, and increasing their self esteem.  Many insurance companies actually cover the procedure too, if you meet the criteria.  To determine if your insurance company will cover the procedure, Dr. Kreegel will give you a complete consultation, including a clinical examination, measurement of your breasts, and a thorough review of all your symptoms.  He will then contact the insurance company to obtain an approval for your surgery, if he feels the breast reduction surgery would be appropriate for you.  The actual surgery can be performed for people of any age, but typically women who are at least 18 years of age, and who are healthy enough to undergo surgery are ideal candidates.  During your consultation, Dr. Kreegel will discuss your possible outcome, including anticipated breast size and shape.  He will also discuss your expectations and, of course, any risks and complications associated with the surgery.  Breast reduction surgery often creates a significant change in your appearance including smaller, firmer, more youthful breasts.  Most women report that they enjoy physical activity more, they have markedly improved and often eliminated pain symptoms, and feel more confident and happy about the way they look.  Call our office today if you feel like this surgery would improve your quality of life…239-343-9777. Latisse Eye lash Enhancement, is it right for you?

October 15th, 2009

You may have seen the commercials featuring Brooke Shields promising thicker, longer, darker, lusher lashes…but how does it work? “I have only been using it for a few weeks,” says Stefanie, the esthetician for Kreegel Aesthetic Surgery, “and I already see an improvement in the length of my lashes.” But how does the product work?

Latisse ® Solution is bimatoprost .03% topical solution, created by Allergan, the makers of Botox® Cosmetic. It works by increasing hair growth, length, thickness, and pigment (darkness) in the lashes. To apply Latisse ® Solution, you squeeze a drop of the product on a small brush and apply it to the rim of your upper eyelid once a day, preferably at night. “The great news is that it only added seconds to my skin care routine!” says Stefanie. Latisse® Solution is different from the many other eye lash products on the market.

It has been clinically proven to work in double blind studies (unlike the “studies” paid for by the makers of other products). It is also the first, and only, product of its kind to be FDA approved. “I used to wear mascara daily to compensate for short, thin lashes, but now that my lashes are fuller I don’t feel as self conscious without mascara on,” says Sharon, a patient of Dr. Kreegel’s. Latisse ® Solution is only sold at your doctor’s office, or at retail pharmacies.

The product starts working in as little as 4 weeks and you see full results in 12-16 weeks. Latisse ® Solution can be used by most people who desire an improvement in their lashes, except for those with a hypersensitivity to bimatoprost. If you stop using Latisse ® Solution, gradually your lashes will return to normal. So, you will want to continually use Latisse® Solution along with your other daily skin care products. “My husband questions why women are so insistent upon these skin care products, but he also says I look great!” I think a prodcut that makes someone feel better about the way they look is worth every penny,” continues Sharon. “I called, scheduled a quick consultation with the nurse preactitioner, and walked out of the office with my new eye lash enhancement kit.” If you want to try this exciting new product, contact our office today to schedule your free consultation.

The Battle of Liposuction vs. LipoDissolve!

October 12th, 2009

Will either liposuction or Lipo Dissolve make a heavy person Twiggy thin?  No, neither method is a weight loss solution.  Liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes fat from undesirable areas like the thighs, buttocks, hips, abdomen, love handles, chin, and more…perfect for those hard to tone areas that you wish were gone.  The procedure should involve a board certified plastic surgeon skilled in the art of liposuction.  The downtime associated can result from a number of things including your own body’s healing response, the volume of fat removed, areas treated, the technique used and your overall health.

So, how does it work?  Anesthesia is administered by a licensed anesthesiologist, preferably in an accredited surgical center like Bonita Community Health Center.  Liposuction can be performed by using various methods.  The favorite of Dr. Kreegel’s is the tumescent technique in which he first injects a fluid into the fat compartment.  Then, a standard cannula or a power/ultrasound assisted cannula instrument is used to remove the fat.  The injection of the tumescent fluid makes suction easier and more effective.  “I like this method because it gives smoother results, and less bruising,” says Dr. Kreegel.  “There are many new techniques that emerge so, I always evaluate them carefully, and go with the procedure that is the safest and most effective.”  Lipo Dissolve, a non invasive fat removal procedure uses fat dissolving biochemicals that, once injected into unwanted fat areas dissolve the fat.

Unfortunately, this procedure is not recommended by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.  “The problem with this technology is that newer, doesn’t always mean better.  Liposuction is a proven method for actually removing the fat cells.  With Lipo Dissolve, where are the fat cells being dissolved into?  New technology like this is less tested than established methods, often more expensive, and generally prone to disappointment and complications,” says Dr. Kreegel.  Bottom line, if you want the fat gone, you might be pleasantly surprised at how affordable and effective liposction really is.  Call our office today to schedule a consultation with Dr. Kreegel.
